Gated Systems vs Ungated Systems:  Gated systems use barrier arms (Gates) to control access in and out of your facility.  The fee charged is based on the time spent in the parking facility. Since the lot is controlled at entrance and exit, no patrolling (for non-payment) or ticketing is required.  
  
Three types of Gated Systems are possible: 
   
     Manned system (Cashier on Exit/Central Cashier)
 
     Unmanned System (Pay on Foot/Pay on Exit)
 
     Hybrid System (Cashier on Exit/Central Cashier and Pay on Foot/Pay on Exit)

Transient Parker - Payment on Foot (Typically Cental Location), Patron walks up to Pay
  Station and inserts Ticket where indicated.

Transient Parker
      - Payment at Cashier located on Exit.  Patron drives to exit and presents
        ticket to Cashier who processes. Once complete, gate opens letting parker out.
 
      - Payment at Central Cashier located in facility (Other than exit).  Patron walks
        up to Central Cashier and presents ticket to Cashier who processes.  Once
        compete the processed (validated) ticket is taken by the patron to their car
        who drives to the unmanned Exit Terminal.  The ticket is inseted and the
        gate opens letting the parker out.

Transient Parker - Patrons drive to exit and insert ticket paid for at either the Pay on Foot
  Station or Central Cashier Station.  Valid ticket open gate letting patron out.  Patrons whose
  exit time expired or did not pay before going to the exit may pay by Credit Card at the Exit
  Terminal (If so equipped).
